make A appt.prior wherever you go.I was supprised that they took me in front of all the walkins.And I received my card after only 2 weeks.make sure you bring your capts lic.driver lic.and birth cert with you. oh I forgot they dont accept personal ck's only credit cards,money order and certified ck's.

hey guys, i will be needing my twic as well. i passed my capt. class but turn 18 in june which will allow me to get my actual license. would i be able to get my card before hand? if anyone knows i would appreciate it.

SURE, ITS NOT REALLY MADE FOR BOAT CAPTAINS, HOWEVER IF YOU USE YOUR CAPT LISC AS A FORM OF ID YOU ONLY PAY $105 INSTEAD OF $132. THE CATCH IS THE CARD IS GOOD FOR 5 YRS IF YOU PAY 132 IF YOU PAY 105 IT IS GOOD UNTIL YOU CAPT LISC IS EXPIRED OF 5 YEAR WHICH EVER IS LESS. THE WHOLE PROCESS ONLY TOOK 15 MINUTES, SO I WOULDN'T SWEAT IT.

The information I got from the philadelphia office was that if you pay the reduced rate the card will expire when your license expires.

If you pay the full rate I think it's good for 5 years.

Doesn't really make sense to pay the reduced rate unless you've just received/renewed your license.
