When trolling tuna with natural and artificial baits:
do you have your reels set at strike?
or do you have minimal resistance on your reel?
I know people who prefer one over the other, curious as to what you like and why.
STRIKE
MINIMAL RESISTANCE
JUST OFF STRIKE

Strike witch mine is about 15#s Let that hook drive home. Remember to sharping them hooks![]()
Just below strike. No "mouthing" with the tuners, sink the steel. Then you can add a little heat after the hook is set.

always run at strike.. want that tuna to put that hook so deep into his arse i taste steel when i eat him.
tuna do not feed like marlin.. so you can really have it tight..
Marlin: very light drag
Tuna: put in just below the strike.
Strike. Not rocket science.

according to the polls 51% of people prefer just of strike, with minimal resistance and strike very close to eachother.
i always thought that fishing in strike gives the best hook set.
