    Question TUNA TROLLING.

When trolling tuna with natural and artificial baits:

do you have your reels set at strike?
or do you have minimal resistance on your reel?

I know people who prefer one over the other, curious as to what you like and why.

Just below strike. No "mouthing" with the tuners, sink the steel. Then you can add a little heat after the hook is set.

    Marlin: very light drag

Tuna: put in just below the strike.

Thumbs up thanks for the replies

according to the polls 51% of people prefer just of strike, with minimal resistance and strike very close to eachother.

i always thought that fishing in strike gives the best hook set.

your correct... it all allows not only a good hook set on the fish but holds the fish from spooling the line..

especially when mr eyeball comes running thru the spread.. imagine a 200lb eyeball taking off with 5 lbs of drag!?!?

he would take a ton of line!! lol
