The drag should be set at strike. As already said, it can be easily set by anyone on the boat.
Another very valuable tip...IF you see the clip pop...Crank like you never cranked before until the line comes tight. Thank Box for that tip.

more important than talking about "strike" or other is what poundage you adjust you reel to on strike, for pure tuna trolling we've set teh strike position to 16 pounds, different reels but inshore i generally set strike to about 3 pounds
