Tuna Tournament in North Carolina:

[Fish Pirate's Cove]

In less than 30 Days we will start our Annual Tuna Tournament at Pirate's Cove in Manteo NC. Base entry for this event is only $700 per boat.

Registration is slated for the 30th of May with Fishing on July 1 and July 2. If you are interested in signing up please give us a call in the office at 252-473-1015 or shoot an e-mail to nick@fishpiratescove.com.

We have several big sponsors that have signed on and we should have some really nice goodies to hand out at the tournament... including 20 Remington 870, 12 guage shootguns and lots of door prizes and give aways.

This year Coin Jock Marina will be doing the catering and we will have an open bar courtesy of Bacardi and Budwieser!

We are looking to break 50 boats for this years event and we also have an optional outboard category as well.

Captain Alan Foreman of The Country Girl released the first blue marlin of the season way to go we also had a really nice catch of gaffer dolphins and yellow fin tunas on the 27th.

We have had fairly consistent catches of tuna that are getting better and better as the season progresses...Once we start seeing more trips booked we will see that the bite really is on!

Today is soo windy you would have trouble getting out of your slip and consequently all the boats are staying in (about 30- 50 mph gusts). Once the wind settles down the fish ought to be good and hungry!!!!

Thanks for the PC update Nick (cool name by the way!).
Pirates cove is home to some of the best boats and crews in all of fishing. We would really appreciate some regular fishing reports and the occasional photograph.

Whats the deal with the outboard catagory?

We have an outboard category that is $500 and the money is split between the top three boats 50% to 1st / 30% to 2nd / 20% to 3rd.

I thought this would be a good way to incorporate the outboards. Chances are that if you win this category you will probubly be up there for the whole tournament too! Last year the winning boat invested $5,000 and he walked away with well over $20,000.

Come on down for the event on the 31st, 1st and 2nd of june it is going to be a good time.
