    Tuna & the Moon

    Guys,
Didnt end up on the water yesterday due to late work commitments....The joys of being self employed !!!!!
    I have a question though!!!!!!
Do you guys think the Full moon period is good or bad for Tuna fishing???? I have had mixed results fishing these periods. More on the non productive side!!!!!!
Are there any different methods you use during full moon when fishing for Yellowfin????
    Thanks in advance........
    Regards,
    Steve (OUTWIDE)

It really depends on the sky cover leading up to the full moon. I think? In a covered sky for days the full moon may be a trigger for good fishing.
A thought. Leading to the full moon in average sky cover, normal for the area. I would assume the tuna would feed nightly if needed or track the bait movement. So not to become bait themselves I would assume on the brightest of nights the chance of a flurry of tuna would diminish. The reason being 1. They have excellent sight and can feed normally. 2 Everything else from below can see them also. 3 Everything is on highest alert in the brightest of moons being a silhouette

    On the same subject,

Has anyone ever trolled for tuna under a full/mostly full moon?

Seems to me it would work, especially with dark baits.

I have had bad trips during the full moon, the night of. But the night before was great so they say. The swords are very active when the full moon is out.
