I have not seen the sun since the day before Memorial day. Now I go outside and not only is it gray and soggy but the trees are starting to bob around. The weather suddenly has "that feel" so I checked the noaa site. I thought last year having 4 hit the state and 2 land in my back yard would clear us for a while but now we got another one starting to spin and just earned a name... Arlene
Again the nit wits thought this thing would form between Cuba and Tthe Yucatan. But noooooooo... It's sitting directly south of me and although the mountains of Cuba would probably knock the whizz out of it, this is gonna keep me soggy and getting mako fever even worse...
I don't think that it will be that bad, but now they say that it'll hit the Flora-Bama Line...so Pensacola don't look to good. I hope that it all pans out. The storm will be well inland by Monday. Keep your fingers crossed.
Problem I have with any forecasts this time of year by the team down there is that they really don't have enough input from years gone by. Yes that is a common early season birth place but they can realluy go anywhere. The sub tropical jet isn't really formed this time of year and theres a front above it that I think could push it east of track...
That's true. You never know where a will go. When Claudette hit us in '03, It was originally predicted to hit over by New Orleans, then Galveston, Then Freeport, and it made land fall and tracked due west. Florida doesn't need another one, but this one shouldn't be as bad as the one's last year.
The good news is that when they make land up that way they usually get out of town quick... Monday might just be aok.
We're slated to be in the clear by Sunday down here...
