AMERICA started to bomb irag. there was no tv, but there was a satellite tv in their room. well it didnt stay there long. all i remember was fishing all day and coming home to turn on the tv and see what was going on in the world. they put it right in the eating area. it was a really weird time there because i think everyone wanted to be home. this was the second time after 911. the fishing was kind of slow.......and i was glad to get home. i believe they just had a baby at that time. i mean within two week's. i always remember the feeling i had being there then. here was a new born baby coming into the world..........bombs away. maybe thats what kind of ruined that whole thing for me. didnt seem that important. catching fish while the world was going to war. i dont know, i need to think about this and if they left....i wish them well and im sure its to raise their child.
Wow, that is shocking to hear as they were two of the most gracious hosts to run a lodge. Ursula crowned me with the biggest phone bill award ....at five bucks a minute I had a few two hundred and three hundred dollar phone bills ! I will miss them.Originally Posted by Donpop
I have been there twice and had a nice stay Hennie and Ursula did a nice job. I hope it runs just as smooth in the future.
Yes they werte great Hosts and I hope the will stay the same with the new managers.I wish them the best.When you are down there you are treated like friends.
There were a lot of reasons but the biggest seems to have been that the kids were growing up and both Hennie and Ursula saw the need for them to be in a more modern setting.. however, the word is that they are moving on to another fishing operation. As soon as I hear anything else, I'll post.
been told by a good source that they have moved to Costa Rica , heard this some time ago.Apparently they have kids that are school going age and need to get on with it.
I have never meet them but have only heard awesome things about them. Great seeing fella South Africans being keeping it real.
What operation did they go to
