Tried for some Kings - VA Beach 10/30/07

I think I was about 2 days late for the party. The King bite of VA Beach was strong for like 3 weeks but I never got after them. Tried yesterday for about 4 hours (trolling) but it ended up being a Fat Albert party (landed 9 or 10) and then we tried around the CH Wreck for some flounder. Well, first drop my lamiglass flounder rod I use in deeper water gets pounded...

50" Red with a 32" girth...big, old fish





We also ended up with one nice Triggerfish



And one 20" flattie and a couple taylor Blues. Beautiful day out there...

Hope the tuna show up...I'm anxious for some serious tuna action.

Pretty Redfish! I think the Kings are outside a bit...I hear they are hanging with the Lizardfish.

We fished the buoy line to the tower for the Kings...no joy. Alberts were caught about 1/2 mile inside the tower.

nice drum but, HOLY COW LOOK AT THAT OCEAN. i could go all the way to north carolina on that surface! why am i at work every day?

Nice fish, Glenn. Too bad you didn't find any kings, but sure looked like a nice day for plan b.

Yeah, it was a bit bumpy when we ran out (just some swells) but as the day wore on, the seas really flattened out. Hard to remember the last time I saw Cape Henry that calm...although it was a light tide as well.

Kinda wish I would have tried some wreck fishing offshore but it was definitely a fun trip.

Pretty Drum there Glenn... The alberts will make some nice wrecking/flounder bait.
