Just finished an article for a magazine that is very Tred like in it's format. I want the proceeds that I make and to encourage others to make donations for Tred's medical fund. Anyone have a link or know how to make donations to Tred?
Thanks

Last I heard;
Donations are being accepted by the Vail Valley Charitable Fund. Send them to: P.O. Box 1275,
Avon, 81620
Or call 970-845-6339. Mention the donation is for Tred Barta. Donations are tax deductible, and credit card payments can be made via the internet at: www.vvcf.org.
Wells Fargo Bank in Eagle has established the Tred and Anni Barta medical fund. Call 970-328-6361 to learn more.

Thanks Capt., much appreciated. Although I don't agree with half the stuff the man says, I do like his style![]()
What's the latest from Tred? How is he keeping?
I just re-read my old copy of the Best and Worst of Tred Barta and was thinking - would it not be a good idea to compile the best (and worst) of his columns in Sport Fishing magazine into a second book. He's written plenty of good stuff since his last book was published - not just in Sport Fishing but also in the Big Game Journal etc.
If Tred or any of his editors is reading this could I humbly request for the following For the Record columns to be included
God Makes My Lures
Blue Marlin 17 Barta 1 - a really good one any billfish troller can sympathise with
Pink - this one had me in stitches for ages
North vs South (the one where he talks about different artificial trolling speeds in different regions)
The one where his son catches his first bigeye tuna on 30 lb
The one where he talks about the need for stealthy presentation, light leaders etc in tuna trolling
There are a bunch more good ones that slip my mind.
If anything like this comes out - now that would be a book I'd gladly buy!

Tred is doing well. So much so, he spent the last ten days at Casa Vieja Lodge in Guatemala. I heard he caught two sails on 8lb line - great feat for just about anyone, but esp for Tred.
Tred was here in Guatemla, he and his filming crew spend 10 days at Casa Vieja Lodge, some days fishing and anothers filming in Antigua and in the Club de Caza y Pesca in Guatemala city,
suerte,
Thanks for the pics!...good to see Tred with a smile on his face!
