    Totes of Death

Ready for spring. I haul my rigs in totes. They work much better than buckets, because after you get all your stuff in them, you can put the top right over the hooks and everything stays dry. Its also easier to see what you have and they are inexpensive. One for wire, one for flouro/mono.

You better make sure you pick it up by the handles. Just ask Austin what happened when he picked up mine a couple years ago.

I guess people are still interested and everyone hasn't blocked me? But only one reply.

Maybe I need to write a 3 page article? It can be the first chapter of my new book.

Sea Draggin, why the, I assume, Dacron over the mono where the hook is? I don't think I have needed a chaff guard there, or maybe because I have wire there, I have not needed it. With the Dacron sleeve there looks like it may cause the mono to slip through crimp. As I said, I do not know but I have not seen it going through the crimp...

Spectra, not dacron. Glued to mono. If it slips, I will kiss Marty's ass.

You do have to use the aluminum crimps to make this easy to assemble.

I do not like putting stainless wire in there personally. Because the different metals seems to cause the hook to become a sacrificial anode and rust in one day.

For the same reason, I have started using stainless hooks on my wire rigs. I can store them after a day of fishing ( if they don't get bit ) and they are just as pretty the next time I pull them out.

Yet another that doesn't have me blocked that will benefit.

Once behind the gills, once behind the weight, twice in front of the weight, up through the nose and wrap down the bill.

If you do every one that way, you will be surprised at how fast you can do them and how many more fish you will catch, especially when the yellow fish show up.
