Toms Canyon 8/19 Report

We ran out on the IMPULSE for the quick AM troll again yesterday. The wind really fell out Saturday evening and it was a much more enjoyable ride out than expected. We had a few guys who always wanted to catch a tuna and each had their shot.

Water was decent and 76.1-3. The fish were on top in the morning. We hooked and eventually landed one in 80-90lb range after a very long fight. Way to go Leo on your first tuna!

Round 2, Dave fought his first tuna for a while, but somehow backlashed. A big disappointment for him on his first fish.

A few more short strikes and that was about it. Time to run back to the dock to beat the weather.

I think a faster troll would have produced more on the tuna yesterday, but we stuck with the plan. It definitely was an enjoyable, but sometimes frustrating day.

If you want tuna, they're there.

No doubt, a long day would have been much longer.

People definitely are catching on the chunk and caught there, as well as other places.

If we had the time, we would have been out there for the chunk...

it was long for us. we trolled right by you out in Toms we had one hit all day pretty painful and I agree definitely time to chunk.

Sorry to not have seen you. Def give us a shout if you see us out there. I'll do the same.

It looks like I'll be dockside this weekend. Hopefully, we'll get the time and weather for a good, old fashioned chunk/troll soon enough!
