    Tiley Town Off Jupiter Fla

Trailered the TurdVee south to Jupiter Inlet with my buds Rich and Billy to go out for Golden Tilefish. Left the inlet just as the sunwas coming up. Inlet was real sporty due to an outgoing tide and NWS blowing the forecast again. 5-10 kts my ass! Fast-trolled a red & black YoZuri with signle hooks on swivels, trying for wahoo, but got no takers. Another guy near us got a double hookup and boated one.

We set up in XXX feet of water, didn't get any bites within 5 minutes so we moved deeper to *** feet and all three of us limited out within minutes.

We moved in "shallower" to 330 feet, 120 feet and 80 feet. Billy got a nice Mutton Snapper, Rich got a fat Mangrove Snapper and I regained my title of King Of Lesbian Fishing by catching an unbelievable amount of trash fish. Parrot fish, grunts, triggerfish, Slippery Dicks (yeah, that's what they are called), porgies, etc.

    Heres some pics for ya:

Billy steering the boat while Rich catches his tile the Olde Skool Way.

Rich's tilefish, marinating in brine prior to getting eaten.

After his 15 minute workout, Rich was fresh as a daisy, raring to go.

It went 11 lbs on the BoogerGrip. Whoo-dawggie!

Here's the 12 lb Golden Tilefish I caught with my electric reel. My damn thumb is still sore from holding the button. I think my fish was a tougher catch.

    Happy Sunday,

    Mark

I can totally understand no GPS numbers, but not even listing a depth? Is it really that secretive down there?

    Wink

Nope, no numbers will be forked over until I'm near to leaving for my Bimini trip in August.

Besides, you don't do much deepdropping anyway. I don't even think you own any electric reels, right?

I will tell you one tilefish secret. You DON'T want to look for structure. You want to look for plain, flat, boring ol' mud bottom. If you get sand bottom, expect Bluelines, not Goldens. The Goldens LOVE to burrow in the mud.

No I don't own any electrics. I do have passenegers that whiff fish and need to be punished though...

At Chub... They whiff enough and out comes "my lil' friend"... Red case 6/0 loaded wiith powerpro 150 on a short stick... I wait til the sounder gives me a scratch in about 600 then bombs away with three pounds and 5 hooks...
Some times for fun I'll use cable leader to keep those unwanted "guests" entertained...

August is fun there... Warm water. Take your pick of bugs for dinner. A deep drop or two then whack a couple late sumer slob mahi and its all good... I may try in September when I get back...
