    Thumbs up Buena Vista Lodge

Was lucky enough to join Bill Pino's (squidnation) group of 8 anglers last week fishing out of the Buena Vista Lodge. The boats I fished on with a fairly inexperienced group of sailfish anglers managed to catch and release 30 sails (could have doubled that easily with all the chances we had) in three days and missed our shots at two blue marlin. Lodge owners Jody and Suzie at the Buena Vista Lodge were fantastic hosts, and it was loads of fun around the Tiki bar and pool after we got back from fishing each evening. The food was great at the lodge and on the boats. Had the pleasure of fishing on the Perla del Mare (Capt Marcial) and the Canaso (Capt Chico), both good platforms to fish from and good captains to fish with and learn from. I would definitely recommend this fishing to anyone, including taking along spouses or kids. The weather was super, light winds and temps in the 85 degree range, so it is doable for almost anyone.

Many thanks to Bill Pino for putting together this trip, and he brought along some of his squid daisy chains that we used in place of what the captains had in the water, and they REALLY raised the fish behind the boat. Made a big time believer out of me, my orders are coming soon.

Did Bill keep you entertained? Did he break any table decorations?

Another successful one in the books for Jody, Suzie and the great staff at BVFL...... did you have any of the soon-to-be famous JD sausage gravy for breakfast?

Younger- Bill was very entertaining, but no broken stuff or bones, he did not offer to dance on the bar this trip. There were others even more entertaining, the beers were freely flowing every night.

JD5652- we had the gravy once, but not on sausage or for breakfast, all the food was great, they really know how to treat people well there!
