FYI....The marina I dock at in W. Wildwood was a victim of a large amount of theft last week. Last Friday night and Saturday morning, it was discovered that the marina's 16' Carolina Skiff (w/ 25 hp Yamaha), an 8' dinghy (w/ small outboard), a 12' kayak, a Furuna 8" NavNet 3D display, an EPIRB, a pair of Costa sunglasses and approx 12 fishing rods were stolen off of 5 separate boats and the marina dock. At least one of the rods had a Shimano 4500 baitrunner and another had a new FinNor reel. You can guess how I know.

Get this, the thief was caught......but the damage has been done. He had a huge yard sale and most of the stuff is "gone" to new owners. The Kayak was found listed separately on Craigslist and recovered. Please if you bought something that was too good to be true...it probably was stolen. Buying stolen property is against the law and you can get prosecuted even if you didn't know it was stolen.

Please be careful as the NJ State Marina Police said they have had quite a few cases of theft this year after Labor Day. If indeed you were also a victim, call the NJ State Police in North Wildwood as they confiscated some items from the perp. Thing that sucks is if they are not claimed or you cannot prove the item is yours....he gets to keep them.
