BP is announcing that the mud/concrete plug has worked. I pray it's true. Now the whole world needs to stay on their ass and the Gubmints ass to get as much cleaned up as humanly possable.

They just confirmed it did not work. Back to the drawing board.
I think a partial solution to the Deepwater leak is already at BP's fingertips. I'm struggling to understand why BP do not use the coffer-dam again. The problem with it originally was the formation of hydrates as cold pressurized sea-water reacted with the methane. If this is the case, could this problem not be overcome by using oil as a barrier ?
Simply put the Macondome in the water over the side of the support vessel, and flood it with salt water. Then close the riser-valve, and introduce a supply of oil via a pipe from underneath. As the oil floods the chamber, it will displace the saltwater that should spill out at the bottom of the dome. When the dome is full of oil, lower it over the BOP, then open the riser-valve. It might also pay to put another valve on the side of the dome at first storey level to equalizer pressure if needs be.
All the research I have done, and the information I have been given, suggests the oil will not change its componentry at that depth sufficiently to alter its viscosity and effectiveness. It would be easy enough to test as a side issue, using a ROV to confirm the results. Very little cost as well. The dome is sitting there, not far from the BOP, why not try ? Simple, inexpensive, and nothing much needed to be fabricated.
