I'm looking for a double spool, manual teaser reel to be mounted on a hardtop. All I've been able to find is electric...any suggestions?

I know they are not doubles but I have been running SportTeasers since Alan started producing them. Great set of reels and you couldn't ask for a better guy to work with. We will have them in action again this weekend!!![]()

I know this isn't the reply you want, but a decent simple electric teaser reel needn't cost you thousands, and they are EXTREMELY useful !
Anthony Ng at Precision Auto makes a great simply electric reel out of a Penn 9/0 that I have used for many years. They're durable, simple, strong and fast enough for bridge teasers, and they're only about $500 or so.
Here's some more info.
for $80.00 each you can get the Big Jon teaser reels...

Roddy,
I had forgotten how inexpensive Anthony Ng's electrics were. They've been around forever (I hope they still are what with the fishing tackle and boating businesses on the ropes - one never knows nowadays) and have an excellent reputation with those I have known who have owned and used them. Being a hardcore bait and switch fisherman who used teasers extensively, I had them on my boat from early-on. They performed great in the brutal tropical environment that we fished in. Wonderful for those without a plethora of crew to hand crank teasers or captains who prefer to spend their time doing other things while at the controls.
My experience with them did not include reeling in heavy metal dredges...when using dredges we used our lightweight composite ones, which the electrics handled easily and that were easy to use manually too. So I'm not sure how they would perform with those big, heavy, hard pulling dredges, but based on them pulling some very large conventional teasers, my guess is that they'd be fine. I'm sure that Anthoney can answer any questions along these lines. He's a straight shooter, so his advice can be trusted.
Good stuff, pretty remarkable price.
