Well I,Brian,Jimmy jawz and Fred set out of Cape May at about 6:00am eroute to the canyon for some tile fish.Noaa realy blew this one for the first 1/2 of the day.Les than 10 and variable my AS#! We cruised at and uncomfortable 33-35mph cruise to the tile grounds.Upon getting there we had fast drift and was tough to hold bottom only got 3fish in the first 1/2 day! When it finally laid down about 12:00-12:30pm and the wind and current died down A bit we could hold bottom with A nice drift and picked away at the tiles.Goldens and bluelines where caught but no wreck fish?oh well we made up for it anyway with A big tile pushing the 50lb mark A real slob!
We departed the canyon approx 7:00pm at A cruise of about 48mph upon reaching the 30line backed her down to about 43-45mph and about 20 miles off it became wicked and could only maintain A 30-33mph cruise. All in all A good time with friends but I little rough ride on the water but I would say that it was worth it!
Heres some pics of our trip.
