team FAST FORWARD report with DR.JIG(kil) 7/10

Well today was the day for us!We where off to the hambone area!I,KIl and brian where greeted at the end of the inlet by bad swells really bad swells only maintained A 24-27mph cruise all the way to the hambone.Kil had A hot tip that the fish where located SE corner of the hambone upon arrival there where A couple of boats trolling and not much was going on,and no bait to be found.So we figured we would just scout around A little while and while out scouting found the mother load of all mother loads!the screen lit up like the forth of july with not only bait but big,big fish.Wow we found them.I am not one for jigging and am primaraly A bait fisherman but Kil insisted not to bring bait on our trip!and it would inturn be A strickly jigging trip.Well I must say that I wasnt all that enthuszed about not bringing any bait. But we did rather well for not bringing any bait.We hooked up at least 30times and I lost count.I am now A believer of the jig! The highlight of the show was when Kil hooked up to A monster and it took about 300yrds of his line out before I got to chasing it down,Well it was about 15-20below the boat and was BIG and the fish was lost.I said what happend he said he didnt know?He pulled the jig up and it was A larger hammered diamond with A treble and it ripped the entire ring and hook assembly off!man what A fight it was!And to top it all off it became A lot nicer as the day went on and it afforded us A 38-40mph cruise home.all in all A awesome day!

Come to the jigging sub-forum and join the rest of us that have become addicted. Who needs porn when you can jig? I even dropped a video in there from last week. Not tuna's but jig caught is jig caught.


PS. I cut teeth on ballyhoo and wouldn't think twice about heading offshore now without a single one, as long as I had some jigs.
