A close friend of a number of BassBarn members is believed to be lost at sea near Roatan, Honduras. Here is a press release. The search was mounted and is underway as we speak. Both governments are involved and the family is also coordinating private search efforts.
Joe is now on day four. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer for Joe and a successful mission!!

U.S. Citizen, NJ Resident Lost in Honduran Waters,
Family Seeks Assistance to Finance Search
May 13, 2009 – Joseph Dunsavage, Sr., (photo below) has been missing in the waters off Roatan, Honduras since Sunday, May 10. He was last seen in a 9.5” x 5.5” white catamaran with a blue bimini top (photo below). He was fishing 200 yards from the beach when he is believed to have experienced engine trouble and begun drifting southwest toward Belize or the Honduran mainland.
Due to the limited resources being provided by the Honduran and U.S. governments, the Dunsavage family has mounted their own search and rescue effort using privately financed aircraft and watercraft. They are coordinating closely with the military to ensure that all resources are being effectively deployed.

Plese contact fishermen/boaters/charters/ etc. in the region that might assist in coastal/land search as well for possible landfall. more info on twitter and facebook under dunsavage or twitter id "sustainableseas". Google search will show pictures of Joe and the boat from press release.

Why is "bass outside of seaside" more important?!?!
Friends, I have been on the barn for years and while not "one of the boys" the sun has set on my boy and he is entering his fourth night, there is a massive international search taking place for one of our local fisherman in a third world with foreign waters, please rally! I know the barn, i am not looking for controversy and not looking for "did he have an epirb" I have been there, its easy until you are the one searching for your best friend, any help, any effort, any money, any contacts is a step in the right direction. Joe may never get to fishagain. He has 5 children, he is the one of the best guys I know, if this was anyone else he would be on it. On Sept 11th heiraised money going door to door and he and I drove to NYC to deliver socks and gloves first hand. We need help, we need money, we need people to tap their network, please give this the attention it deserves. This is my last post, I will copy this to the other forum and I am done but folks, this is real and it is time sensitive, please, e-mail your groups, hit reply to all on all of your e-mails from the last months, the stupid jokes etc, reply to everyone with the news article and press release, get your companies HR involved. We are looking at search efforts of 20k_ a day, medivac of 30+k if found. My friend is in his fourth night adrift at sea on a 9' pontoon or he lost on a remote beach, he will not give up and neither will I, please save any criticism and sarcastic remarks and step up to save this great man who has 5 children waiting for their father to come home!
