# 4 spro will go on #8 eagle circle, we oblong the swivel with a pair of pliers so the bait can't slide off the hook when it's a little bumpy, if you don't oblong them they are are subject to coming off when a wave catches em just right, sometimes you might have to file the back side off the hook so it slides on easy, makes no difference we only use hook 1 time anyway. you can use the same swivel with #7 eagle as well

You really don't need the swivel at all. I really feel like it's just adding in extra crap that gets in the way. The baits will swim straight and true if you have them rigged right.

primarily, it gets in the way of making Dave a profit on his business
everything matters. keeping costs down. those swivels can get expensive. and its just another piece of hardware you must have in your arsenal to rig up. I don't use them neither. |

Gotcha Jeff, I figured as much, we use em and the ballys are swimming just fine, if I was doing it for a livin I'm sure I wouldn't be using them either, week-end warrior here. tight lines capt.

I was sort of half joking about the costs
, but seriously, I would rig them however they work for you....i.e. if they get eaten, then do that again.catch 'em up. |

Swivel
Rob,
If you call finest kind they do a good job of finding which swivels fit perfectly on each hook... I believe the best "cost effective" swivel for the job is the Billfisher R10....at least it worked for the 7/0 Eagle Claws and now the Mustad. Haven't used it on the 8/0 Either way give them a call. It is a 30lb test crane barrel swivel. A pack of 100 should be around $6.... Good Luck |
