    Swell Rider Sportfishing..NC Jigging Report..10/14/08

Well the weather man miss the forcast again today..Travis and the boys from NJ/PA where down again for a couple days of AJ jigging. We got an early start this morning seing that the wind was still blowing NE 15 with a 3-5ft east swell and a ton of current. We opted to fish inshore of the break because of the conditions. Our first stop was a wreck inside 25 nm, as soon as the jigs hit the bottom we had 3 on.. This seened to be the story of the day as we poked around and fished 3 other wrecks in the area. We found a good grade of fish and had action all day.. The best part of fishing out of Atlantic Beach / MHC is the amount of local near shore wrecks and structure that hold a ton of quality fish and if you chose to fish the deep it's only a 35-40nm run. It's always a pleasure to fish with Travis as well as meeting some new friends. I'm already looking foward to our next trip.. Ken

We call em "Reef Donkeys"- otherwise known as the Greater Amberjack. They make quite a showing for themselves on the other end. Around here they are full of worms. Many people still eat them, many do not( I happen to fall under the latter of the two categories).

Great stuff Ken. HEE HAW, HEE HAW! Thanks for sharing the report. Now my arms ache.
