Well I was Finially able to link 3 days together and get some work done on the big pond...Spent a few hours friday jigging Bluefish and Sheepshead with Patrick, Jackie ( Merry Marlin) and Chris (Nauti Natured) even though the wind was still blowing we still had a great time jigging with lite tackle and the Blues were thick..
Saturday and Sunday was spent offshore Bottom Fishing with Travis, Jesse and Jackie. We left Atlantic Beach at 5:30 and were greeted with a great sunrise, light winds and a lazy swell..Our first stop was around 30 nm from the inlet, got set up on the piece and the fish were chewing to say the least, we worked that 90 to 120ft of water for most of the day as well as fishing a couple of wrecks in the area. It turned out to be a reel mixed bag day, Gag Grouper, Sea Bass, King Mackeral, Porgies,B-Liners, AJ'S, Bonitio and yes 6 American Red Snapper..All fish were caught on both bait and jigs, Jesse and Travis have been making there own Jigs and we surely put them to use this weekend, we used nothing but chrome jigs and most were not even finished and boy did we put a hurt on the AJ'S and Kings with thoses jigs..Just goes to show you that you don't need all those fancy Jigs to catch fish you just have to know how to use and have good technique. Hopefully this next front will blow through quickly so we can get back out and hit it again...Ken
