Well today was the last day that Dave would fish before heading back to the Cape to get ready for the Porgy season on the Helen H..We headed offshore in near perfect conditions again to do alittle Jigging and Bottom fishing..First stop was on some bottom I marked on a run in from the stream the other day dropped the Jigs and hooked up right away with some 50# AJ'S nice way to start the day but I had a few more miles to run so we moved on..As soon as we aproched the wreck Dave was on again and it was like this for most of the morning..After each drift off the piece I was marking plenty of triggerfish so we put down the baits and began filling the box. Small 1/0 hooks and squid were the call on the triggers, they were a bit picky yesturday but we managed a nice load after awhile. The bottom was full of Dogfish in the 130 to 170ft range so we moved inshore to and area I fish Gag Grouper and American Red Snapper and once again was not let down..It wasn't long after we set up on the piece that Dave was on again, this guy just has the touch when it comes to Grouper fishing, great technique with both jigs and bait he has a full understanding of how and why each method works..The ledges and live bottom in the 90 to 120ft have been holding a pretty good amount of fish, Grouper, Sea Bass, American Reds, Pinkies , Triggers ect..ect..so it's shaping up to be another good season..It was a pleasure fishing these last 4 days with Dave he said he loves the picture of the guys that hold there rods in there mouth so this one's for Dave...
