I dont see a report from Bill on here so I will go ahead and put one up. We fished Reel Fancy on sunday with Bert, Howard, Joey, Brad, and Bill. We started out at the 430 just inshore of a broken weedline in 80 fathoms and 72 degree water. There wasnt much going on on the line. A couple of the first boats there picked up a handful of flip flops a piece. Didnt sound like much doing so Bill turned her inshore into the blended water and soon after we have a 25# yeller on the shotgun bar. An hour goes by and we push north up to the 460 and get a longrigger and shotgun bite, catching two bonitas. We had seen the first decent mark of the day there so we circle back around and get a shortrigger yeller 30#. Circle back nadda. Keep working the area and a half hour later, and a half hour later, shotgun bite, 30# yeller in the box. No more bites there so we worked offshore to the weedline and we thought we had weeds on the planer so we crank up to find a 10# dolphin on the planer. We trolled back into the blended water and had one more bite on the longrigger that may have been a tuna, but no love. Around noon we decided to head north and go tilefishing where we quickly caught close to a limit of tiles before heading home. It was incredibly calm and sunny all morning, but got foggy on the way in. We heard of a ton of blue marlins spotted, a few hooked, even a double header of 400+# fish was hooked, but didnt hear of any released. Tunas had squid in their bellies. No bait marked or seen all day other than a school of 5# bonitas and a lone flyer. Didnt hear of any other tunas AT ALL caught out of OI and it sounded like real tough fishing, so we were happy with our day.
Final tally:
3 yellers
2 bonita
1 mahi
28 tiles
