Suggestions on a 40k diesel s/f that is canyon capable and better than average on fuel

I am seeking some suggestions guys and girls. I am trying to buy a boat this season, and have a 40k budget right now. I want something that is diesel, single screw or duals if that may arise, but my main goal on this boat is going to be inshore day trips and the rare canyon trip when I get a charter or have the fuel $. I have 40 grand and really cannot push it past that unless the asking price is close. What would you recommend looking for? Anyone know of anything for sale that may fit the bill? I like the 31' Northcoast hull, but they are a little tough on fuel with twin diesels.. Calling out to anyone with a suggestion. May not be the perfect time to buy a boat for me, but I feel that you should be able to get some pretty good deals out there no?

    Thanks in advance,

    Kevin

Kevin, I have seen this boat personally and should have bought it. With the money you want to spend it is hard to find a reliable canyon capable boat that you don't have to worry about everytime you leave the dock. You would be a crazy not to take a look.

    Give him a call.

    H2OBoss,

Good luck with the search! I have been looking pretty much for the same type rig for the last 2 year's now. Came close once or twice, but so far haven't pulled the trigger. Most of the "deal's" I've seen, are boat's that folk's knew they were going to get rid of and so the maintainence has not been done or worse. Just be sure you can see the "bottom" of the project before you jump! By the way, I'm still looking myself. Frank

I would make Bill Funk and offer for the Reel Fancy. Nasty boat. Everything dialed in greenstick engines are flawless would be a steal needs to go to a serious fisherman. You can get him on tidalfish Hit N Run call name.

I agree, $40K for a diesel IB will get you a $10-20K Project at min. For $40K you can get yourself a sweet late model single outboard that would be ready to plug and play. jump on somone elses boat for a ride to the edge.
