    Stuart next week

I am pulling my baot down to Stuart next week to do some fishing. We would love to catch a sail but am up for anything. Can anyone help me out how is the bite where is it and what is the best presentation. I also would have no problem going after HOOs or Mahi. What are my options and what would you suggest.

Troll small medium Ballyhoo on 20lb outfits on 6-7 ft 15-30lb rods. Does your boat have outriggers? Might want to pick up a dredge if you have a rod for it.

Fished out of Ft. Pierce two days ago. Rip was out in 180' and scattered weeds were found there. Sails and mahi were caught although mahi were small. Watch St. Lucie inlet, it is a mess right now and poorly marked. You can find bait at Marker 10 and 12 north of St. Lucie. Mostly thread hearing and runners mixed in with other junk. If you want wahoo try the 90'-120' area out front of the Juno pier south of Jupiter Inlet. The wrecks north of St. Lucie are holding good amounts of grouper, you just have beat the divers to the spots. The ledge off the Loran Tower has been holding some sails and so has the 90' SE out of Sebastain Inlet. Monitor channel 78 to listen for charter boat chatter. Cobia have been swimming with the rays in the 50' depth range, look for the tide rip if it forms. For sails troll dink to medium ballys north of Jupiter or try to flying a kite with live bait. Wind has been all over the place lately so watch the weather closely.

reel fishy has it about right... There has also been an intermitant bite of the refuge on hutchingson island in 60 ft of water or so. Sails mixed right in with the bait. A kite or floats and thread fins has proved effective here.

The hill off st. lucie has been holding mahi and there have been a few hoo's mixed in.

St. Lucie inlet is being dredged right now. The name of the dredge in the "alaska" and they can be reached on vhf channel 05. The inlet entrance is constricted with float hose and submerged pipe lines. Great lakes has it marked out fairly well at this time, but it is narrow. Go slow.

You can check out a web cam on www.stlucieinlet.com that shows the mouth of the inlet.

    Good luck down there.
