Striper fishing on the Canyon Runner the last several trips has had some great moments. The best of which came on Friday with Captain DeBlasio taking the Chris DiGregorio charter out on a morning trip and the action never stopped all day. They quickly made bait outside Manasquan Inlet then ran up off of Asbury and proceeded to make long productive drifts all day. Each drift produced several fish and the trip ended with a limit of bass in the boat and several released.

Earlier in the week the Terry Minor charter on Thursday had a good catch of bass on bunker during the morning trip.

The good fishing continued over the weekend with a fun trip where Adam LaRosa took out several friends and their children. In total 9 kids joined the crew of the 60’ Ritchie Howell Canyon Runner on Saturday and quite honestly had the most fun reeling in a few dozen bunker. The highlight of the weekend and the year thus far was when Adam’s daughter – Ariana LaRosa (age 11) caught her first striper – a nice 20+ pounder on a bunker off of Asbury Park.

Tuesday was a banner afternoon with the Keith Ortner charter on the 60 Ritchie. Fishing with kids and women always brings the fish and Vito Lombardo and Cole Ortner along with Carrie Turner had fast action from as soon as they left the inlet. They fished from 4pm to 9pm and had 11 stripers up to 40 pounds (keeping 6 and releasing the rest).
