    Storing Stertch 25 and 30's

Anyone, have a suggestion or a solution for storing stretch 25 and 30 lures by Mann's. Not sure if theres a product on the market or if someone has been creative and built something. The plastic tubes they come in crack and brack, actually the 25's don't come in tubes anymore. Anyone?

Just make a rigging bucket like you would do for ballyhoo rigs. Take a 5 gallon bucket (or similar) and make notches around the top in the shape of a V. Evenly space a bunch of them around the bucket and then you can hang your stretches, parachutes, diamond jigs, bucktails, etc from the inside of the bucket. I also leave a couple drail weights in the bottom of the bucket so I have them ready. Drill some small holes in the bottom of the bucket so when you're back at the dock you can hose off the entire bucket and let your rigs air dry. We also take 1/2" rope to make a handle for the bucket (more gel coat friendly). Drill a hole in each side of the bucket and insert the rope from the outside in. Slip on a stainless fender washer and then burn the rope end and smush it flat so it can't pull back through the hole. This set up is nice because you can have everything at your fingertips when fishing especially when you want to switch over from trolling to jigging all your stuff is right there.

    Tim,

The cheap and indestructable way is to; buy PVC pipe the needed diameter, cut to length, cap one end and use a cap on the other. Problem solved. By the way, the same thing work's good for dredges. Just fold em' up and slide em' in the tube. Country boy solution's at work! Frank

Thats pretty much what we do now, I'm looking for something thats more stowable friendly. Taugin has been better than bassin out front and while we are on a wreck, the bucket just gets in the way. Put it in the console it gets knocked over, up on the bow its in the anchormans way. Plus I dn't like storing them in the bucket for the winter. Thanks for the input. May have to stick to the bucket.

I like the way your thinking, i've seen that done. Whats your thinking on attaching them all together in rows. Can't drill through them or screw them together so theyd all fit in a bag for transporting
    Thanks Tim

    Tim,

I'd say that if you used a big enough diameter (say 5" or so) you could pack a few in a relatively short piece of PVC. Frank

Al it takes is a little duct tape to bind all of the tubes together. Low tech all the way - and extremely functional

    Ther You Have It!,

Leave it to a redneck, computer engineer type, to bring up the use of duct tape! There's probably room for some old chewing gum in there somewhere! Frank

I learned the hard way...... Don't let soft lures touch the stretch lures in your tackle bag or how you stow them....... Where the soft lures touch, the paint and plastic on the Stretch gets soft and gummy.... Not that the fish can tell but it never gets hard again and they get all over everything.
