    St. Thomas in November

Going to be in St. Thomas over thanksgiving and was thinking of renting a center consel for a couple of days and dragging some high-speed wahoo lures. Anybody want to give me the skinny on some general areas to focus my efforts? Anything else biting this time of year?? Thanks in advance; I appreciate it!

Shoot Double Header charters an Email and ask away. They're the big meat fishermen out of Red Hook.

    go to the north drop....

mahi, mahi, and more mahi, them wahoos are around also.....a decent shot at a saildog is in da mix also.......tuna being the least on the probabilities!!!!

watch yourself to not get into BVI waters....you need a permit to fish there and if caught, you'll be arrested fined and the ride confiscated....not joking here!!!!!

good luck and have a good time

Thanks Carom for the info and warning......will be sure to stay away from BVI waters and strictly concentrate on the North Drop in US waters. My buddy made me some killer high speed wahoo lures for the trip that I hope to put to good use. Is there alot of Wahoo around that time of year? I was told to stay in like 750 to 900 ft of water, running along the edge of the drop off.

What's going on Joe? Welcome to the board. When you heading down to PV next? I am heading to St. Thomas for my honeymoon over the week of thanksgiving and am looking to wet a line and catch some speedsters. Looken to get some info from some of the regulars down there. Anyways, I hope all is well with you.

I may be done for the year as well unfortunately. New house, new car, expensive wedding, house refinancing, etc.........just ate up my entire fishing budget hahahahaha. I'm sure you know how that goes. Can't wait for some R&R in the USVI. I heard the wahoo bite is full speed during this time of year. Adam made me some awesome wahoo lures, which are specific to that fishery.........dragged at 14kts in the second wake with 50 ounces of lead about 30 feet above the lure. Super stoked to catch some fish on em.

thats the ticket, basically...yes there is a very decent wahoo bite during that time of the year!!!!, look for a weed line, trash or floatsome and your there....usually if you find the mahi, you find da hoos'...hope this helps!!!!!!!!!

if you get a chance and rent the boat.....take your bride on a boat ride to Norman Island and have a few BUSHWACKERS at Pirates....the scenery during the trip is second to none as well as the drinks...may also wanna check out White Bay in Jost Van Dike. None of them are far on a boat.....if your slip is in Red Hook.

One more thing...watch out for the ferries....THEY DO NOT STOP FOR ANYTHING......EVEN IF YOU ARE ON THEIR WAY!!!!!

    I SHIT YOU NOT!!!!!

    lilharcher,
Post up when you get back. I'm supposed to be in Vieques, PR 1st week in Dec. for work. I may have to take a sick day and try to get tight on something. Let me know how the bite is.
