Just got back about a month ago. Inshore all I managed to catch were a couple of cuda's. I didn't fish as much as I wanted to but from what I understand over by the airport (on Tortola) there is a bridge that holds a bunch of tarpon. If you go offshore the guy on "Big Ting" over in Spanish Town (VG) told me that the Wahoo fishing was pretty good this time of year.

Your going to love it there. Here are some pictures that I posted from my trip Vacation Pictures for a rainy day.

Are you going to St. Thomas (USVI/United States Virgin Islands) or the BVI/British Virgin Islands, two totally different places, thats why I ask? USVI is more developed/larger population and has a pretty nice sized big boat/offshore fishing fleet. BVI is a lot smaller and its fishing fleet reflects the island chains size (when I lived there there two on and off charter boats).

Fishing in the USVI you don't need a license/permit (at least when I lived there!) but from what I understand fishing in the BVI you do need a license/permit now....

Both are world class fishing locations with the BVI being more unexplored with great reef fishing and flats fishing. Let us now which of the two (USVI or BVI) you'll be going to and I'm sure some folks will add some recommendations....

Whoops just checked you post-looks like you may be there already-still not to late for some recommendations-hope you folks are having a nice time!

I'm in Tortola (BVI) now, fishing aboard '35 Contender THIRD CHANCE out of Soper's Hole ... winds are supposed to lay WAY down by Tues / Wed (5-10 kts, seas 1-3, almost unheard of down here) ... the North Drop always has Wahoo, Mahi, Whites and some Blues, especially around the FAD's, but I'm looking at fishing the South Drop, maybe even the seamount south of Virgin Gorda ... I'm a licensed captain, and have a lot of experience in these waters ... drop me a PM if you want to go give it a shot (not a charter, just me, my Dad and another buddy but if you're really up for it I'm sure we could find room)
