Going to St. Johns first week in February. Looking to get a day or two of fishing in. Anyone have any info about area. Heard there was a decent yellowfin bite during that time on the north drop. Never been there before so any info would help. Thanks

St. Johns is great. I am not sure about the winter bite. I think the marlin bite is on the full moon in the summer. All the charter boats are in St. Thomas so search there to find a charter.
I did not know how to pm but feel free to pm me with your number and I can tell you more about the island.
Have a great tip!

St. John is amazing and there is a charter outfit on the island called mixed bag sportfishing
Guys name is Rob and he is very cool and knows how to fish. If your looking for YFT its an afternoon bite almost always, fun fishing though with live bait on the drift once you find them. We had a great trip with 3 YFT 50lb,60lb,88lb being the better of the catch with lots of schoolies thrown in...Didn't hurt when the 500lb class Blue smashed the port short and was on for about 20 second..![]()
Also, the charter boat sell catch to the restaraunts in order to keep the charter cost down. However, just tell Rob that you want to take some to the villa, or home and he will accomadate you fully. Also if the weather is bad, the nice thing about there is you can change from north drop to south drop depending on swell/wind etc
just tell Rob the guy with the quarter story sent ya...hell crack up

Eddie Morrison on the Marlin Prince in St. Thomas is one of the best if the St. John's boat does not work out.
