SST from yesterday for NE Canyons

If anyone up in the NE hasn't put the boat on blocks just yet, you might want to take a look at this SST chart. This body of water that has pushed in, is not an eddy but rather the "main" part of the Stream that has pushed up against the edge in the Atlantis area due to cold water currents coming in from the east. This current info is as per the team at OceanTemp SST service. That kind of water at this time of year would surely mean an epic body of fish given the fact that bait is present. If anybody is going, has gone or knows anyone who has or is, please post the report. I know from my longlining days that when you have those kind of conditions, combined with strong currents, this time of year, good things usually happen.

Some buddies of mine are planning to run out Mon-Tues if the conditions hold out, I'll let you know if I hear anything good from them when they get back. I'd love to be making the run but my boat was just hauled this weekend

Did you hear any good reports from that water in the W Atlantis?

OCMD is pretty much dead offshore. I heard of 1 boat that ventured to the Baltimore cyn and produced nothing.

It's pretty much linesider time now thru mid december.

    West Atlantis

We took the journey to the West Atlantis hoping that the great water was holding some fish. We left on Monday around mid day and set up for the night about 5 miles west of West Atlantis as we found great water, loads of life and bait. Drifted up the bank and had schools of squid, porpoise and a beautiful night, but not a bite. Moved back down the bank and on the second drift we released a small sword, a small blue shark and had a hit while jigging, but nothing Started trolling at first light and found a lot of life around 2.5 miles west of the West Atlantis, trolled the area for hours, had one nice fish on which we lost, one small mahi and not a touch for the rest of the day. Picked up around 12:30pm and called it a day along with a season. Good luck to anyone still waiting to find the fish.

Man, I would have put anything on it that there were fish there. Kudos to you guys for making the run, sorry to hear you didn't find them. With those conditions I think anyone in their right mind would have gone. Good luck next year!
