    SST check please...

I was looking at the SST program I use after being away for a week and I'm seeing temps of 70 degrees up and down the 40 line out of OC. Is this correct? I was reading reports of guys shark fishing just inside this area last weekend and they reported temps of 65. I'd hate to think my SST service is off by 5 degrees!

It appears to be some surface warming, we need to get the water mixed up a bit for a real SST shot, thats my take on it.

I came up from Hatteras on Sunday and I didn't see any water temps over 67.5 from the Norfolk into 30 fathoms and then straight up past Lumpy and the Parking Lot.

If you look close as the buoy data, the temperature goes up at times 5 degrees by mid afternoon due to warming. Check out the VB buoy. 65 in the am and by mid afternoon, up to 70 (from 11 June 2007). Need to check the timestamp on the SST service as morning vice afternoon shots will vary greatly. Still, no good stream eddies warming things up, it's all inshore green slope water.
