It is getting near that time again, just a couple months more, and the squid will herald in the arrival of our fishing season here in RI...

This year we will be running night trips out of Newport, RI, in addition to Hyannis MA during the daytime. There will be 2 boats in each location to handle your squid jigging needs. The boats will be avaialbe as open boat, or private charter.

Open boat pricing on night trips in Newport will be $75.00 per person, and will again run from 8 PM till at least 2am.

Hyannis trips will be $90.00 and will be an all day affair from 6:30 am till at least 3PM.

We are already booked through the 12th of May on one vessel in Hyannis, and are starting to fill in other dates as well up there. Last season we had great success in Newport at night, for those not able to get daytime off, and we have plenty of prime dates available.

I have great rooms available in downtown Newport at an really nice inn my wife manages that includes breakfast, for those looking to parlay the trip into a nice getaway, please inquire as to rates and choice dates.

The only nights which do not have openings out of Newport are May 3rd and May 4th, as the boat was booked for private charter. There are random parties of 1-3 on some nights, but plenty of room

I have plenty of evening openings in Hyannis if you would like to come out with me as opposed to one of my other captains. I purposely did not aggressively market the night bite in Hyannis, as I plan to make a lot of bait for myself on the night runs and didn't want a full boat.

I would be happy to set you up on any weeknight, let me know what nights are best for you and we will make it happen either in Hyannis or Newport. I would imagine that the new moon on May 5th will herald the start of the peak run, and provide the best fishing.

We are booked through the 13th for the day runs in Hyannis, and cannot book further into the month as it is not a surety they will continue a hot bite past that date. With the full moon not till the end of the month, we may see a n extended run this year, stay tuned.

This is a great way to get some delicious calamari to eat, and stock up on plenty of bait for the upcoming season....The smaller squid freeze excellently in quart size bags, laid flat,and are proven tuna killers.
