I gotcha glenn, U know what ive learned from DA BOX, It aint going to go to waste this year, trust me.

and youre right, i dont whant to be the next zoo with every pretty rainbow color lure they make in my spread.

Just thought this would be a intresting thing to try. The dredge thing really intrigues me.

Like i said, I would NEVER trie this kind of stuff with paying guyz on the boat. just a little bit of experiementing fun...

#1, it's cool that you are thinking creatively. How bout this one? A rock fish umbrella with 4 tube squids and a GM hook bait?

I know we don't pull a dredge to raise Mahis - But what pointy nosed fish eats a Mahi?

A few years ago we experimented with squid dredges. We found that standard shell squids did not work well as they would collapse due to the water pressures. On a Spreader or Splash/Bar they work well because they stay on the surface and are not affected by pressure. Under water though, these same squids just looked extremely unnatural.

The only ones that we found that looked good were the ones made by Mold Craft. As most know there squids are thicker overall and have a much smaller opening thru the body. They could be easily rigged with an egg weight and we found they would not collapse at the standard dredge depths.

These dredges with the Mold Craft squids looked great in and out of the water, but we couldn’t give them away. I can’t explain it, but we had them on display for two years at all of the major boat shows and there was just no interest at all.

Personally, I thought they looked great, would hold up well under attack, didn’t require a lot of additional weight to get them down, easy to maintain and stow and were not that expensive. Go figure.
Chuck, forget the Mold Crafts, Mr. Pino has a better product with lots more
(Rasta) pretty (Rasta) colors, such as Rasta.
