Ok dinner was good... Thanks for asking...

The weather forecast was worse than it turned out to be and at 7 am I gave the green light o go. The damn tide was out and still going down. Stuck to the bottom or not the new Mirage had to go... Made the bone jarrin mile run through 2 foot chop driven by 20+ knot wind... Don't know why it wasn't big but I'm not gonna complain...

Noticed no clumps of boats . Rather a line spaced well apart as far as the eye could see north and south... I could hear not much cooking for thorty miles in each direction so I selected a spot and went to work... was in a turn baits in the sun for the first bite... Empty hook syndrome... Reloaded and got a stabbin sized dolphin.
Got on another turn again baits in the sun but I saw a beak. Hook inverted and turned back into the bait... 0-1... Then another green one then another...
A second sail swatted a bait blinded by the sun inverted hook again and 0-2. At least no human error..... Then a slob kingfish skyrocketed with our rigger in sites... Todays angler was top shelf new to set up early and managed to bring the pig to gaff range... I screwed the pooch though on stroking it laid up right but the butt of the gaff caught the boat when I went to set it home. That split second stutter was enough time for a tooth to find the 40 mono leader and say bye.

We switched to dead bait. Still setting the spread a sail swatted the rigger and went away. Seconds later here came another green one. Then another. And another... And... And... And...
I said before the angler we had today was good... He wanted to run the pit his way and he not only fought all the fish but cleared other baits out of the way and then rigged fresh baits to go back out as we were buning em at a blistering pace... Ok They weren't sails but it was a smackdown on dolphin and all of em good ones...
This guy was understated and as good as any mate you're likely to see down here. Hell of an angler and welcome aboard my boat any damn day of the week... I would have loved to fly the laundry but it wasn't in the cards. We had a slush coffin full of meat and a dynamite action packed day...
I want to thank the boss for coughing up the big boat for our use. My angler and his dad made the day complete... I'm sure he'll get around to posting and throwing the pics up before long...

Boss got to see what I'm up against with the dock from hell today. No water in it at low tide... Three knot cross current, no pilings to cushion off, a boat on my port side that sticks out ten feet past the one piling that is there. gonna get a new slip tomorrow...
He wants this boat run... Between now and March when we go island side... Anybody wanna fish? Drop me a line...

    Like you didn't already know...

EVery few minutes I thought IO had an engine over heating or transmission going or bilge pump running cause it saounded like alarm bells with all the texts you were throwing at Charlie...

Shoulda seen the people on the dock looking at the catch. We're the only fishing boat there. The bar emptied out too watching us cut fish til the sun went down... One anler one fish at a time it was a pile of em...

NICE!!! Now you have to admit i'd much rather talk to charlie about how fishing is going than sit at that track meet and think of how I am going to run and sorry if I was worrying you about the engines

Well this just figures... Boss wanted me to move out of that slip before either machine or somebody got hurt... Waited for slack tide and pulled out...
Couldn't take her out of the slip without testing all systems. Some how or another I got sucked out the inlet to about 100' of water.
A ballyhoo or four accidently fell off the back of the boat but I had strings tied to them in case that happened. I thought perhaps I'd grab a quick dolphin to bring home for Colleen... A fish came up but it wasn't green. It was purple and had a point. Figures couldn't pull it of yesterday and five minutes into today there it was. sail... It ate close to the boat and I got a quick release considering I couldn't maneuver since I was cranking and the helm was way far away... I trolled another half hour and had a small bonito...

Amazing how many sails you seem to catch when you have nobody else on the boat with you.

Well they don't count for nothin... In fact down right irritating... Cause that guy yesterday was a great guy and I wanted more than anything to score one for him... It was 0-3 on that count. And today I didn't get the dolphin I wanted for my wife... Why not talk about that? Yeah that would make more sense to rub it in that I can't even catch a mahi in a sea of green...
You forgot to mention that its funny how the same thing happens when I go out solo swordin... Might that be because I bring them home to cook and its hard to cast aspersions on meat on the dock?

You gonna mount em if I start layin my solo sails on the dock? If so bust out the check book and I'll stack em like cord wood for ya stalker...Otherwise shut your fuckin yap... Thats right I said fuckin yap you cavernous asshole..

Shit you want funny? I not only drive, fight and leader the fish solo but once in a while I even get video while doing it too. The sail at 44-57 seconds on this vid is one of them...
The white at 2:40 -2:59 is being leadered with cam in hand... Wheres your solo footage?
