yes they are effective. I get my spreader bars from Sterling Tackle in Marmora NJ. Quality stuff at a reasonable price.

i use to not be as big of fan of bars as i am now.. there is no doubt in my mind that they draw alot of fish into the spread.. i think the best ones made are the lightweight no drag bars, 9" rainbow and green machine bars.. i personally like canyon runners bars but they dont last forever.. but sure do catch alot of fish ran from the inside riggers. back when the bite was primarily on bars we ran 6 at a time.. but on a usual basis we run 3

Spreader Bars raise tunas and generate some incredible bites. We done very well with fishing the bars right off the transom which is a completely different technique then the carolina boys do. They prefer to fish the bars way back. Obviously I would love for you to try one of our bars but to be completely honest I get no better satisfaction catching fish off of bars that I build myself. I would suggest researching the type, color and size of squid that best works in your area and try making your own bar. Then put that sucker out and watch for the boils and explosions.

Thumbs up REEL SEAT SPREADER BARS!!

Take a look at reelseat.com Dave Arbeitman the owner made the very first spreader bars and still does a very fine job with them. I have been using them for at least fifteen years. They are made very well and run excellent in the water. They also catch a lot fish!!!!!
