The more shit in the water the better . Bars for Tuna rule, as long as their Green machines or red and white shell squid. Remember the first thing a new lure or bar catches is the fisherman thats going to use them. Thats why everyone has differing opinions. The fish come up to eat ,it's simple really, you can have 8 lures out , 8 potential things to eat, or 8 bars out with hundred things to eat, which one works better do you think?

If you look at sea striker squids, you will see they have imperfections, and you can see through them, they lack good presentation IMHO. Also, they better quality squids last mush longer from my experience. I use Big T squid's which are identical to canyon runner squids, they also make the mini mambas he uses on his bars. Also, I have talked with the rep many times, Big T squid's have phosphorus in them so in low light they glow and shimmer, hold them under a black light and see, when fish are deep they will see that shimmer a lot easier then some flaky glitter in the squid, plus it is more natural. There are other brands out there that are good as well but I've seen some that are worse then Sea Striker Squids and are very thin and flimsy and just do not hold up. I'm sure there are other squids out there that are top quality as well, it seems wherever I fish they use a different type or brand and you will often see a top shelf and a cheaper brand in that style. For many a $3-5 difference in price for a dozen, it makes more sense to me to buy better quality. I rig my own bars to match canyon runner bars and my squids are identical to what they use, I have some of theirs as well. The type of squid you use may not be best for all fish. For yft I'd go with this type of squid, but for billfish I'd use moldcraft squids, ever check what Canyon runner teases his marlin up with on daisy chains and bars, moldcrafts, also bft and big eyes like 6" smaller moldcrafts early in the season when they feed on smaller baits, but for the remainder of the season a 9" shell squid is a great go to squid.

I've seen the effectiveness of the Mauler (Rastas) on my buddy's boat...I use either shell squids or mini mambas...I have sizes ranging from 7" up to the larger 15" squids...if I had to pick, it would be Rainbow or Green...I like the larger squids in Green.

If I did not already have so many bars I'd make up some Mauler bars but as of now, I have more shit than I can use anyway
    Tight lines,

    Glenn
