    spotlight help

I am looking for a spotlight to use on the boat for general navigation and while running in the dark. I have a 24' grady cabin with a hard top and am debating between a remote light on top or a handheld light. The drawbacks that I have seen with the remote light is the price and relatively small candle power. The hand helds are difficult to use through an enclosure and glair is an issue in the curtains and off the bow. What would your suggestions be?

The remote are nice lights. I have a CC and use hand helds. They are cheap Once I held the on button to long and it burnt out. That lasted a day. The second one has a man size button It has lasted three trips. If you are going to use hand helds that are cheap, buy two at a time. I would bet a hand held is on most boats with a remote also
