Just so everyone knows, John just pulled in w/his crew (plus two) and everyone's OK. I'll leave it to John to give details, but wanted to assure everyone that all is well.

I was aboard the boat that John assisted in the CG rescue. Everyone is OK, and the boat did make it back to port. Haven't seen the damage done to the hull yet, but will tomorrow. From what I hear it is pretty bad.
I want to thank John and his crew for responding so quickly to the mayday, you guys were great! We all owe you.
Will post more details tomorrow, need some sleep!!

    Lil' Tunny,
Glad to hear everyone made it back to port okay! I talked to John last night and he told me the damage looked pretty bad.

    John,
WTG, I would have done the same thing. All you hope is that someone pays the favor back if ever need be.

We were about 18 miles SE and followed the call and vessel positions on the Radio. I could see many boats much closer on radar so we reported the call on 68 also. I too will leave the details to the people that were on board but there was clearly a big chance the boat was going down and it had to be a great feeling when Sportfishermen.com pulled along side. Once dispatched, the CG on the water and air sounded excellent...I'd trust them with my life (and do).

I was extremely impressed with the way the Captain of the subject boat handled the situation. Clear headed, clear communications, and clear thinking. Great work Capt.

It almost goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Thanks for being there John. John was on the scene quickly and must have headed that way with the first Mayday. If you're going down over 60 miles out another fishermen is your best shot at keeping you out of the water. We all need to look out for each other and Sportfishermen.com was clearly looking out yesterday.
