sportfish galapagos ready for marlin season

SPF- Your post raises a ton of questions, I also would like to know who you fished with, the mayor on San Cristobal is supposedly welcoming sportfishing and then you have your experience! Since there are really only three operations fishing right now, maybe they aren't hooked in politically with the right people. The longliners are having a field day down there, but some sportfishing operations don't have the financial clout to fish the same waters.I'm going to send your post down there and see what the reaction is.

Sounds to me like there are some crooked local officials down there and any benefits from this "licensing" is going straight into their pockets.

Count me out of fishing the Galapagos.

SPF sorry you had a bad exp[erience but i know it wasn't on my boat from the email i got from you. What we are doin is legal because we are fishing in an area open to sportfishing. The mayor ZAPATA deems it to be open and is promoting sportfishing off the island. We don't run into any problems with the navy. We buy a permit everynight before we go out from the navy and list our passengers and crew we also radio before we come back into port every afternoon. Again fellow anglers this is a great trip for marlin and nature at its finest. If you want to come give us a call thanks SANTINI

MY partner just called me from san cristobal his report say marlin fishing improving getting back to normal catching 4-8 marlin mostly striped a few blues no blacks this past week raising an average of 15-25 a day on our usuall spots . Also said tuna both bigeye and yellowfin redhot some pushing 300 lbs. We are booking up quickly for next season give us a call petesantini@yahoo.com thanks SANTINI
