Thread: Spooling reels with Braid Question?

    If done properly no tape, mono, or any other gripping wrap is needed to start with. The tape, mono, etc is used to prevent the line from slipping on the spool while under high drag presure. If the braid/spectra is put on the spool correctly right from the first wrap it will not slip. Note the Words DONE PROPERLY.

    However, All that being said it will not hurt anything if you do put a few gripping wraps on a spool if it makes you feel better .
