    Spencer/Wilmington/Baltimore Still worth a try?

Forecast looks good for Thursday in the deep. We were thinking of a final day troll trip. Anyone think it will be worth it? I got plenty of ballyhoo and figure we should be able to get on some longfins.

    Any thoughts?

Would think you'd still get longfin but i was overnight in wilmington last week and they're weren't many yellows around. If you're happy w/ longfin then go for it!

Yeah well we haven't really had a good troll bite on the yellows this year anyway so if we could put a longfin catch together in November that would cap the offshore season off nicely for us. Did you guys troll at all last time in the Wilmington? Thanks for the info.

We will report if this weather holds and we get out.

Hey LuckyLady if the weather is good we are going. I will post on here closer to Thursday if the weather holds if you guys want to team up with us (2 boats are better than 1). Not sure what canyon you're looking at but my guess is we are heading south, probably Baltimore.

We are contemplating on to go offshore or pre-fish for the tourney this weekend. I know I want to go offshore more than pre-fish sooooo

I have no good guess or judgement at the moment, it will be a tough call regardless. Normally I can get some Intel on what is happening but the stupid weather. Going to look in to in later on tonight.

chunk & jig them tuna now in the daytime

We had yellowfins under and around the boat at 8:00 am last week in S Poormans. Got one nice one about 80 lbs and then headed for Cape May as the crew needed to get back as they had a long ride home. No longfins on this trip as in the canyons to the north. Also had 5 sword bites with at least two pretty good size that pulled the hook. Marked lots of tuna and slicks at the Hambone on the way home but that was before the blow last week. Three day scallop boats working the bone but the best marks were right on top of the hill. We almost stopped to jig there but again time did not allow it. Last year at this time Capt Mark slammed them good with up to 50 tuna or more per trip on jigs alone but down in the Washington Canyon on the HOOKED UP II. Hope to also get out this Thursday as we have group that wanted to go overnight Wed-Thur but it does not look good this morning for an overnight trip on Wed. If we can we will be out there somewhere as soon as the weather allows. Hope to get offshore next week also weather permitting. Just looked at yesterday's offshore temp shots and did not see any water above 60-62 degrees offshore this morning.

Sorry to hear about that Lady . I just took a look at sstol.com and the water temp in 100 fathoms of the Baltimore is about 64-64.5 degrees. The weather window looks small for a day trip but it is still there. Hopefully we come across something that will pull on the line. Looks like another blow-out weekend on the way so we are definitely going to be doing something. If we don't make it out to the deep we will be hucking bunker in the D-bay.
