RFA originally set the date for the 17th, but failed to check the Congressional calendar. Seems congress will not be in session on that dateand most congress people will not be in their offices. Thus the date was changed to the 24th.

One additional piece of information concerning "Faulty Science" used by NMFS. This goes to the Grouper closure in the Gulf. NMFS did a mortality study to determine how many short grouper that were released actually survived. The study was conducted off North Carolina by boats using hydraulic reels in water 200' deep. In reality, recreational anglers in the gulf rarely get deeper than 100' and use hand cranked rod and reel. Naturally, the fish brought from great depths by a hydraulic system floated away and were counted as dead, thus NMFS concluded that 80% of all released grouper die

Gandy.... Killed? Not at all... Thats the stuff we need brought to the forefront... The dates have been corrected and all is good to go there...
Every voice we can get on this counts... Putting all the info here not only helps me put together a package to go to bat with but maybe, just maybe, it will inspire a few others to get on the phone or email and crawl up their elected officials scuppers. If they hear it once its one thing but if that phone rings off the hook and the "you got mails" sings out loud and clear over and over they might get the hint that a storm is brewing and its gonna be a big one!

Deep, rather than post all of the current, and possible future closures and cut-backs in the south atlantic, I would check out the SAFMC website. It details species by species all closures and new regulations.

I've done that but looking for more. I'm searching now direct and indirect impacts on individuals and even how the feds are strong arming states to fall into line. The site you mention details only the direct fed imposed closures etc. States are being forced by them to go further...
I'm looking for reps sympathetic to our side and which players are bad from state to oval office. Any verifiable dirt on the bad players either direct or by association.
