Tom,
I'll be down there all next week, hoping to get out as well. I asked a similar question a while back on the "Ask Jeeves" thread and got some great advice. You can also check with tradewinds tackle on the island. I believe they can get sst shots for you. They also have a website that posts reports daily, some of it is offshore. Lately it's been a lot of dolphin, a few tuna and wahoo and the occasional billfish. I'm sure they can give you some coordinates. I've got some numbers in the GPS that I got off the net here and there, but they've never been real exact for us.
Good luck, maybe we'll se ya down there and run out together one day.
Good luck.
Ross
Very few tuners being caught. Some around still but very finicy--- a kite if you want to go to the trouble. Mostly Mahi and Kings right now, Whites starting to show up.Originally Posted by tominator
Although obvious from Ocoke--- anywhere from the 800 to the Rockpile. If I were fishing blind I would make a bee line to the 950, bail a few on the first couple of weed lines ( if they've formed back up yet after the SE blow) and stay on that line and troll overboard heading up the beach, keeping an eye on the current and temp.
Appreciate the help. I must confess though, that I've never been able to convert LORAN numbers to Lat/Lon and when we sold the old grady, that wonderfully simple LORAN we had went with it. With the new ride we jumped on the mapping GPS. Wish we still had that LORAN. I'll look for the 950 on paper chart and see if I can figure out a waypoint from that.
Thx again,
Ross
Don't feel bad--- I can't figure out shit in Lat/Long.Originally Posted by roscoe

X & Y coordinants is what you want The Loran TD display option will be under the various Units of display option.
