South East Georgia Offshore Fishing (bft ?)

I will be heading down to my fathers house on the 19th for christmas break. I have access to center console and want to head offshore. What species would I be likely to find trolling (not big in to bottom fishing). Most likey heading to grays reef but farthest out would be r-2 tower. Any chance for migrating bft or any othe pelagics in the cold georgia waters this time of year? Any help would be great, trout fishing is fun and all but offshore is where my heart is..
    thanks

Welcome. Yes the BFT's have been spotted. They were around 25 miles due east of St. Simons Island at G Reef hitting Boston Macs. Very rare for that close but from a very credible source. I too will be targeting the Blues so drop me a line. Todd

P.S. My sister went to Radford!

The guy who saw them Friday said estimates 150 to 200 maybe. I would never know how to guess weight on these. Anything over 27 inches is legal!!!!

This is good to hear. Thejack, what dates are you planning to go offshore? I will get into shellmans bluff late friday. Planning on fishing sat or sun if the weather is nice. I will be down till the 24th. Good to hear someone knows where Radford is.

Thanks for the info. The spot you mentioned is 44nm from Mayport. My next opportunity is next Friday or Saturday(19th/20th). I would really appreciate any reports you hear. You can private message me or email me. My email is in my profile.

Yes gulfstream does hold all the usual suspects....Just hard to find the right weather for the 80 mile trek from St. Simons Island.
