I was thinkin the same thing. Do these cargo ships not have any kind of weapons? I just can't imagine how a little POS boat can overtake a 500' cargo ship.

They're not allowed to have guns except on certain vessels due to UN regulations. Now I beleive American ships should have security onboard just like the airlines, cruise ships,etc. I don't think that this was an american owned boat and the americans onboard were freelancing so to speak. Either way, something needs to be done about this quickly. I think that if a boatload of pirates try to take over a ship, they should be shot on sight. But to bomb the whole country, that's too much.
