Here's a brief overview of what's happening in the off-shore scene from So.Cal to Cabo To PV
So. Cal:
Nice Thresher fishing going on as we speak from Laguna Beach down to San Diego, Threshers are being caught on the troll close to the beach (1-8miles)
averaging 100-250lbs with some small Makos mixed in.
1 day trips can score decent counts of Yellowtail and rockfish and the 1/12 day boats are still getting nice counts of Yellowfin in the 10-30lb range, Albacore and Yellowtail with a handfull of Dorado mixed in, GOOD LATE SEASON fishing on the local multiple day trips.
CABO:
Going South The fishing is solid all the way to CABO where they are experiencing top notch Striped Marlin fishing and good meat fishing.
THE STRIPED MARLIN FISHING IS OUTSTANDING IN CABO RIGHT NOW WITH DOUBLE DIGIT DAYS FOR THE TOP BOATS.
The Yellowfin are avg 20-40lbs with a few over 200 caught recently, The WON tuna jackpot tournament goes off next week and there will sure to be a couple cows brought to the scales.
The Dorado (10-30) and Wahoo fishing is also strong and you should have no problem filling the boat with quality meat;
NOTE: BRING YOUR OWN ICE ON ANY CHARTER BOAT DOWN THERE, LOT'S OF IT AND BLEED AND CHILL YOUR OWN FISH, THEY WILL NOT TREAT YOUR CATCH PROPERLY THERE, DON'T BE SHY, JUST TAKE CONTROL OF THE MEAT WHEN IT COMES OVER THE RAIL IF YOU WANT TO EAT IT.
Puerto Vallarta/Mag Bay:
Both are having outstanding fishing with Billfish and Da Meat, PV will give you the best chance for COW YFT (contact Capt. Josh Temple for a charter) he put a few over 300Lbs on the boat recently.
but both locations are having excellent billfish and meat fishing..
Good time for both So.Cal and Mexico West...
