SNELLING CIRCLES...

I know this has been gone over probably 500 times in different threads but in everyones opinion what is the largest size leader you can snell to a circle hook? i mean i can snell like 200 and maybe 250 but i dont know if i could snell myself 400lb for a blue suit?!?!?!?

I think the bigger the mono the easier it is to snell. 400 lb is not to bad to do. Anything smaller than 100lb is a mother to get to work right.

I snell all sizes with my way and the main line is protected under all the wraps. I will try to post some pics.

kevin o taught me to do 400, vernon on american ambition does 500 . 400 is alittle tough on the teeth.

You can snell all sizes of line but with the heaver stuff over say 150# use a bench vise to hold your tag end and your body weight (wrap around your butt and kinda sit down) to cinch it tight.

you go into the eye on the point side, make a loop on the back of the shank with the tag end pointed down, wrap the bottom of the loop around the shank, from the bottom up, then pull the tag end down. Super simple and I can do it with whatever size you want. That was 250.
