Well normally I'm at Chub or Bacardi this time of year but boss's schedule says different. With guests to please but a carpet of dirty green cold water out to the deep deep, I had to come up with some kind of plan. Gina Lisa Danny let me know yesterday that some kings were holding up the street and with nothing better in sight I made that the game plan.
Late start made later by bridges under repair had us out late and with scheduled openings limited we would have to come in early. I found a live bait man willing to stay late and fire over a dozen delicious gogs. A few miles run had me setting the lines at 11:20 am. That would give us not quite two hours to burn em up and make the bridge back inside.
Took about 20 minutes to find the first then we had em dialed in. Nice fish running from 15-20 on the low end and some pushing 35 lbs at the other... A ball on light spin. Was fun "racing" the sharks and getting them to the boat before they got munched.
Raised a sail in the mix but the wire I guess put him off eating. Still a heck of a fun sight watching it chase the bait around.
About thirty minutes early we exhausted our bait supply and made tracks to catch the bridge and let the boss and his guests eat a late lunch.![]()
